FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ·

    • I am an in-network provider for Aetna, Quest, and Anthem BCBS for NY residents. To access my services through your insurance plan, we will use Headway. I am an out-of-network provider for all other insurances. If you are still interested in working with me, you may be eligible to receive out-of-network reimbursement through your insurance. I would encourage you to contact your insurance to verify if this is an option for you. If so, I can provide a monthly invoice you can submit to your insurance for reimbursement. Please note that you are still responsible for each session cost, as the monthly invoice will serve as a receipt to submit to your insurance for any eligible reimbursement.

      1. From “Us” to “We”: Coaching program for Couples is not eligible for INN coverage

      2. Please contact your insurance if you want to use or learn more about your out-of-network reimbursement benefits before our scheduled time together. Here are some questions you can ask your insurance when you call:

        1. Do I have "out-of-network" mental health insurance benefits?

        2. What is my deductible and has it been met?

        3. What is my "co-insurance"?

        4. How many sessions per year does my health insurance cover?

        5. What is the coverage amount per session?

        6. Is approval required from my primary care doctor?

    • For individuals and couples who are looking for ongoing therapy services, you must reside in the state of New York for us to work together.

    • For couples wanting to sign up for my coaching program, New York state residency is not required.

  • Both individual therapy and couples therapy are offered on a weekly or biweekly basis. We will work together to find a consistent time that best fits both of our schedules to meet each week. Consistency is key for us to get to know each other and to be able to do the work we are here to do!

    • I have a limited number of sliding-scale slots available for clients experiencing financial hardship. This applies to individuals and couples. If a sliding scale fee is no longer needed during our work together due to a change in your financial situation, please let me know so I can grant another client in need access to the sliding scale slot.

    • The Anti-Oppressive Rate Questionnaire determines sliding scale fees. Please contact me to inquire about available sliding scale slots.

  • Community care is a practice of radical support and generosity. It allows clients who have financial abundance to pay above my base rate to sponsor another client or couple who may not be able to afford the full fee. This creates a ripple effect of access and healing within our community. Participating in community care is completely optional, and your decision to engage in it is entirely personal. There’s no pressure, only an opportunity to support others on their journey. You can opt in or opt out at any time.

  • Telehealth allows therapists and clients to meet for therapy without traveling or meeting in-person for sessions. While many clients find telehealth convenient and just as helpful as in-person sessions, please note that for telehealth to work, clients should have access to a reliable internet connection, a computer, and a confidential meeting space. Without these three essential tools, telehealth meetings may be interrupted and session time may be lost. It is also my policy not to meet with clients who are not in a confidential meeting space or who are multi-tasking.
