Coaching for Couples and New Parents

From “Us” to “We”: An 8-Week Coaching
Program for Couples

Welcoming a baby is life-changing, and your relationship deserves support through that transition.

Does this sound familiar to you?

You’re excited for your baby but worried about how your relationship will change.

You already have children and feel the pressure around how growing your family more will change your family unit.

You and your partner keep having the same arguments about roles, responsibilities, or future plans.

You feel disconnected or misunderstood when talking about parenting expectations.

You’re unsure how to balance intimacy, communication, and co-parenting before baby arrives.

Conversations about family, culture, or religious expectations create tension or silent resentment.

You want to enter parenthood as a team but struggle to stay aligned under pressure.

You CAN do this together.

Becoming parents brings joy, but it can also surface stress, tension, and uncertainty in your relationship.

This coaching program gives you a structured, supportive space to slow down and navigate these changes together. You’ll learn practical ways to communicate clearly, share responsibilities, and resolve conflicts before they escalate. We’ll explore the fears, expectations, and family patterns that influence how you show up for each other, helping you respond intentionally rather than react out of old habits. By practicing these skills in a safe space, you’ll strengthen your emotional connection and build a partnership that feels aligned and resilient.

Together, we prepare you to face parenthood as a team, so your relationship can stay grounded, connected, and ready for the journey ahead.

Introducing From “Us” to “We”:
An 8-week Coaching Program for Couples

This is not a group program. For 8 weeks you will work with Ingrid directly as a couple.

This program is perfect for expecting couples who want to enter parenthood as a team, feeling connected, aligned, and prepared. It’s designed for couples navigating the emotional and practical shifts of pregnancy and early parenthood, including balancing roles, managing conflict, and navigating family or cultural expectations. Through guided coaching, you’ll strengthen your connection, improve communication, and build a co-parenting partnership that feels supportive, resilient, and ready for the journey ahead.

Program Overview: This program guides expecting couples through the transition to parenthood while strengthening connection, communication, and partnership.

Across eight sessions (each lasting 50 minutes), you will:

Session 1: Set the foundation: By exploring your current relationship, hopes, and fears about parenthood, and identifying shared goals.

Session 2: Enhance communication skills: To navigate stress, disagreements, and emotional needs with active listening and clear expression.

Session 3: Clarify expectations and division of labor: To co-create a plan for parenting roles and household responsibilities.

Session 4: Preserve emotional intimacy and connection: Through intentional moments of closeness and maintaining physical and emotional bonds.

Session 5: Learn coping strategies: For stress, sleep deprivation, and self-care to support both partners individually and together.

Session 6: Navigate family and social dynamics: By setting boundaries and creating a united approach to extended family and friends.

Session 7: Optional financial planning: To discuss budgeting, priorities, and preparing for the costs of parenthood.

Session 8: Reflect and plan for the future: By celebrating progress, solidifying shared goals, and creating a parenting mission statement.

By the end of the program, as a couple you will feel more aligned, confident, and equipped to enter parenthood as a strong, connected team.

By working together, you’ll learn to communicate more openly, set healthier boundaries, and create relationships that feel safe, honest, and connected.

I hold graduate degrees in psychology and mental health counseling and am a licensed mental health counselor in New York State. I began my career as a case manager and later transitioned into clinical research, gaining experience supporting clients with diverse identities. During the COVID-19 lockdown, I joined a private practice, where I discovered my passion for helping clients navigate relational and generational challenges.

I became a therapist because I know what it’s like to carry emotional pain in silence. Growing up in a Latino household shaped by traditional Christian values, emotional struggles were kept private, and therapy wasn’t an option. It took years of unlearning to realize that silence isn’t strength, and healing requires support.

Becoming a mom has deepened my personal and professional commitment to building healthier relationships and breaking generational patterns. I hold space for Latinx and BIPOC clients navigating similar paths of deconstructing harmful belief systems, healing spiritual and generational trauma, and creating relationships that feel safe, honest, and intentional.

The Anti-Oppressive Rate Questionnaire determines sliding scale fees. Please contact me to inquire about available sliding scale slots.

  • Community care is a practice of radical support and generosity. It allows clients who have financial abundance to pay above my base rate to sponsor another client or couple who may not be able to afford the full fee. This creates a ripple effect of access and healing within our community. Participating in community care is completely optional, and your decision to engage in it is entirely personal. There’s no pressure, only an opportunity to support others on their journey. You can opt in or opt out at any time.

  • Telehealth allows coaches and clients to meet without traveling or meeting in-person for sessions. While many clients find telehealth convenient and just as helpful as in-person sessions, please note that for telehealth to work, clients should have access to a reliable internet connection, a computer, and a confidential meeting space. Without these three essential tools, telehealth meetings may be interrupted and session time may be lost. It is also my policy not to meet with clients who are not in a confidential meeting space or who are multi-tasking.
